i have got a virus (i think its a virus anyway) that inserts extra letters with single letters i type and does other stuff. these letters type/do this:
u= uy
y= uy
r= rt
t= rt
i= i]
p=p[
w= caps lock on
e= i.e. search companion appears
[= p[
i have had to edit this post heavily to make it clear.
i do not have a keyboard with keys stuck together and do not have fat fingers.
it is impossible to type normal. i really need help.
AVG free, spybot S%26amp;D, registry mechanic, CC Cleaner, checking Hijackrthis log reports, smitfraud and trend micro internet security all do nothing. they find some viruses but i don't know if they are to do with this, they remove some leave some. i really need help.
i don't think its sticky keys. Maybe the keyboard has a foreign language changed on it but i don't know how to check.
s%26amp;d and smitfraud stopped it at first, but it seems to just 'come back' like a virus recopying itself or something.

goto: controlpanel, system, advanced, system restore and turn it OFF.. restart PC pressing F8 repeatedly, and start in 'safe-mode' do a FULL virus scan ad-aware etc and it should be removed...

The first step is to disable system restore,then all your cleaning and removing must be carried out in safe mode.I believe you have the correct tools to hand,just repeat everything again.Also take another very close look at the logs ,produced by HijackThis,the virus or BHO etc. must have an exe or dll;it may well be disguised as a legit process,check that nothing is out of place.Check Task Manager is any process running when it shouldnt.I am sure this issue can be resolved,please re post any additional details.Good luck!!How do i get rid of this virus?

STOP MESSING WITH ALL THAT FREEWARE CRAP
I recomend purchasing antivirus / firewall from a RELIABLE vendor such as McAfee or Norton.. etc... properly configuring it to scan for PuPs and for automatically updating itself...
Spybot is fine for anti-spyware and anti-adware but if you have avirus it will not help.
You MUST uninstall all that freeware crap and get a reliable tool or stop posting asking for help and get a technician who will do it for you for more money.
Turn off system restore until the infection is gone, otherwise you will reinfect yourself.. once clean re-enable and create a clean restore point.
Once you have a proper tool installed and properly configured... force and update and perform a complete scan.

Once the infection is clean and if your keyboard is still not functioning properly you can attempt a repair of windows by sticking the Windows CD into the CD-Rom drive... start the installation and either choose REPAIR or Install (withOUT choosing to format)... if you choose format you will lose all of your data and this is only to be done as a last resort...
Once you repair or overlay windows your keyboard should be working properly again. If you are using a specialty keyboard you may have to re-download and/or re-install the software / drivers for that keyboard. These can be obtained from the manufacturers website.
